Article voiceover
A way before you
that ends
in great anticipation.
Many have wandered this hall
back turned from home before
but not with confident
black patent leather oxfords
that call out in chorus
with your pace
on the glossy linoleum.
The way taken
has no bend
but your mind
bending words
whispered over and over
in preparation
and the bend
whispered to you
that only you hear
and I wonder what is being said
words of
damnation,
desperation,
determination,
depth,
beauty.
The hall leads just
far enough that
the heart of home is
torn ever so slight
and the heart of you
feels the resolute swell
and your pace quickens
further away.
Your confident march
retracing the way you came
crystals of energy in hand,
and with some proximity
to home restored,
it is understood
in the glow
of your dark eyes
that the energy
radiating out
from your spirit
will always touch home
and will always
lead far away
to your horizon.
