I cannot see
I cannot see that which you describe as I wander beautiful blackness. I cannot see the lush, green grass that leads to our garden, but I feel the welcoming give beneath each step I take. I cannot see vibrant flowers that erupt with fire somehow from the earth, but I sense life emerging somehow from a place of vibrant shadow that I dare not enter. I cannot see each variant texture of every variant leaf, shrubs we chose together and planted with labor and love, but I believe every descriptive attempt you make and that your words are art enough to paint a masterpiece that our world cannot even hold. I cannot see the weathered fence that offers sanctuary for all who enter to clear every mired facet of their diamond being so that every ray of light that you see reflects in brilliant thousands through each corner of our wooden creation, but I experience the brilliance in its fullness deepening the blackness cast on me. I cannot see the changing sunrise in all of its glorious possibilities that you call me to witness with you, but I have seen that glorious horizon and know it is for you. Now I search a future shrouded, horizon beyond anything offered to my past sight, unsettled in not knowing whether it lies below, beyond or through your horizon. A blessing of light over you. May you be ever fed by this energetic spectrum that provides clarity, beauty and joy, and in time grow branches expansive that reach to the eternal sky and roots that grow deep into our dark source. A blessing of darkness over me. May I open my eyes to possibilities held only in this love, basking in this gift that hides horizons beyond my understanding of what can be, and when the hiding preparation is complete step bravely forward through the coming dawn.
